Frequently asked questions

Frequently asked questions about the workshop & bike service

Do you also service everyday, trekking and E-Bikes – or only racing and sports bikes?
Both. We come from pro racing, but we service the whole family's everyday, city, trekking and E-Bike just the same. Whether a budget bike from the discounter, a kids' bike, a pedelec or high-end carbon – every bike gets the same careful service from us. You don't have to be an athlete.
Do I have to have my bike serviced where I bought it?
No. We service all brands – no matter where you bought your bike (including online retailers like Canyon, Radon or Rose). You're not tied to any dealer.
How often should a bike be serviced?
As a rule of thumb: a basic check or inspection once a year, or rather every 6 months for frequent riders and E-Bikes. We check the chain and wearing parts continuously; the fork and shock need a service every 125–200 hours depending on use. After winter or before a longer ride, a look is always worthwhile.
What should I keep an eye on myself between services?
On four things: Tyre pressure (check regularly), Brakes (bite point & pad thickness), Chain (clean and oiled, don't let it „stretch“) and unusual Noises. Caring for your chain in time saves expensive knock-on damage to cassette and chainrings. When in doubt: better to drop by once than to keep riding.
What does a bike service cost?
That depends on the bike and the effort involved. Small things like a tyre or tube we do in minutes with our express service. For services and bigger repairs you'll get a transparent estimate up front – no surprises on the invoice. Just send us a WhatsApp with a few photos.
How long does a service take – will I have to go without my bike for weeks?
No. That's exactly what sets us apart: many jobs we do straight away or within a few hours, and suspension service usually in 2–3 days at most. If you live further away, you can drop off your bike and pick it up later – or after your holiday – at your leisure.
Do you service suspension forks, shocks and hydraulics yourselves?
Yes – completely in-house. Marco is an authorized mechanic for Fox and RockShox. While many shops send suspension and hydraulics out to third parties (weeks of waiting), we do the work ourselves – faster and with racing experience. More on this on the Suspension page.
Can I drop by without an appointment?
For small jobs (tyres, tubes, quick adjustments) feel free to drop by spontaneously for our Express Service. For bigger repairs and inspections it's best to book an appointment online – that way enough time is set aside and your bike is ready quickly.
Is a repair still worth it, or is it better to buy a new bike?
We advise you honestly – with no pressure to buy. Often a well-maintained bike runs like new again after a service and a repair clearly pays off. Sometimes a new bike makes more sense. If a new bike is the right choice, we'll advise you on the differences between models, components and sizes – see Bikes & advice.
