Frequently asked questions about buying & advice

How does a purchase consultation with you work?
First we listen: what do you want to ride for (everyday, touring, MTB, Gravel, road, E-Bike), how often, what's your budget, what discomfort do you know of? Then we measure you for the right frame size and riding position and pick suitable models based on that – instead of simply selling you the most expensive bike. On request, a test sit and seating optimisation right along with it.
What can go wrong when buying a bike online?
Plenty: the wrong frame size, a geometry that doesn't fit your body, the wrong category (e.g. a pure XC race bike when you actually ride tours), too little or too much travel, unsuitable components. On top of that: online you can't take a test ride, can't have anything adjusted and have no local contact when problems arise. What looks cheap on screen often ends up more expensive through a bad purchase and retrofitting.
Why do you recommend advice on site rather than simply buying online?
Because the bike is too you has to fit you, not the other way around. A well-fitting bike is more fun, prevents pain and overuse and lasts longer. We combine racing experience, seat measurement and honest advice with no pressure to buy – and afterwards you have a workshop that knows and looks after your bike. Buy online and you might save for a moment, but often you pay for it with the wrong purchase.
Why do most people buy the wrong frame size?
Because they go by rough size charts (based on height alone). What really matters is your inseam, torso and arm length, flexibility and intended use – two people of the same height often need different frames. Many also go too big because it looks „sporty“, and then end up stretched out and uncomfortable. We measure properly instead of guessing.
MTB, Gravel or road bike – which one suits me?
It depends on your terrain: MTB (Trail/Enduro) for off-road, roots and descents, Gravel as an all-rounder for gravel, dirt roads and touring, Road bike for speed on tarmac. Not sure? That's exactly what the consultation is for – together we'll work out what suits your routes and goals.
E-bike or bio-bike – which is right for you?
An E-Bike is ideal for longer everyday commutes, climbing, shared rides with mixed fitness levels or getting back in the saddle. Without a motor, the bike stays lighter, cheaper and better for training. We give you honest advice on which option suits your daily life and goals – we offer both.

Yes. We are a service partner of Canyon, Radon & Rose: have your mail-order bike delivered straight to us, we'll assemble it properly, check everything and you pick it up ready to ride – including a setup to your riding position.
